Ep. 3 - Lauren Ash: Human Design, Healing and Opening to Receive More Abundance

[00:00:00]

Elyse Preston: Hello, and welcome back to be more [00:01:00] connected. Today, I'm sharing another interview from the soulful abundance festival. This interview is with one of my absolute favorite leaders in the wellness space. Lauren Ash. Lauren is a visionary, a spiritual teacher, a speaker writer. And founder of the culture shifting lifestyle brand Black Girl in Om.

And in this interview, Lauren shares openly about her story. And how she's claiming and celebrating everything that her soul is here to do. And allowing that to be the source of her abundance. So in this interview, we discuss the revolutionary power of setting clear intentions. We talk about how experimenting with human design has been changing Lauren's life.

And how our ability to experience abundance. Is really dependent on [00:02:00] expanding our capacity to receive. We really dove deep into talking about spirituality and abundance and our own unique journeys. And I just really enjoyed being a part of this conversation and I'm super excited to share it with you.

We did spend a bit of time exploring the topic of human design and today's episode. This is a system for self-understanding and self-empowerment that Lauren and I are both students of, and that's played a role in our growth and our evolution. And if you are not familiar with human design and are curious to learn more.

I have a free five day human design masterclass that you can access when you sign up for my email list. So I'll be sure to link that in the show notes. And if systems like human design are not your jam, I [00:03:00] still encourage you to check out today's episode. I think you'll find that there's still lots of content that can be valuable for you.

All right. I hope you enjoy this conversation. And if you do, please consider leaving a five-star review. For the next two weeks, I'm running a giveaway contest and anyone who submits a rating and review. Automatically gets entered into a drawing to win. A human design reading with me and I'll be selecting three winners.

These readings are so fun for me because I really love being able to help people feel deeply seen and known. And giving others permission to know and love and trust themselves and embrace how they uniquely feel most comfortable and powerful in their businesses and lives. Alright. And so with that, we will [00:04:00] transition into today's episode.

Lauren Ash: you know, I always wanna affirm as much as I can around the healing journey that it is extremely non-linear.

Right. So even in thinking what I could possibly share in this moment, I'm just like, Ugh, there's so many moments. And, um, you know, the truth that I also really love to amplify it even more now is that I'm already healed. Mm, you're already healed. Everybody's already healed. It's just allowing ourselves to expand into that knowingness, which feels scary sometimes because.

, I myself many times have fallen into the trap and the, , fear based thinking that I'm only healing. If I'm suffering, I'm only healing. If I'm exited like all the narratives. Right. So I wanna really just. Contextualize everything that I'm gonna share within those two beliefs that I hold very close to my [00:05:00] heart.

Right. So, you know, in the nonlinearity of, of, of healing for me, that has looked like the fact that when I was young, I was given a lot of different spiritual bread crumbs that, , inform my who I am now. Right. So everything from the fact that. My grandmother, Lillian Berry Martin. She, um, when I had really bad cramps, when I was visiting her in Arizona, , when I was in my early, , part of, of my college career visited her, , and had really bad cramps and she just looked at me and she was like, just boil some ginger.

Boil some ginger. And that was really a beautiful, , message for me of the earth being what is a healer, right. Of nature containing everything that I need to step into my wholeness and to, , feel sustained and feel supported and feel like I can thrive. Um, I also, you know, recall, um, just how freely expressed I was as a child.

I feel like our freest [00:06:00] most liberated most self-expressed selves is our fully healed version of ourselves. Right? No inhibitions, , no shackles, no. , constricted. You know, throat chakra or like, I'm just thinking about like seven year old me who was just singing and dancing and reading and wanted to read to you and wanted to be seen.

And it was like she was healed, right? Like she was fully healed in herself. Like. And so I looked to my, I looked to moments like that as evidence of me coming into this world already being divine and perfect and knowing that, , and so the non-linearity is really what happened when the world started to put its limitations on me.

What happened when I started to then take those limitations as my identity. When actually my identity is love. My identity is God. My identity is like literally divine, [00:07:00] unconditional, eternal presence. So why would I identify with anything outside of that? You know? , and so, and of course I know we're gonna talk about human design, but this all connects to human design in terms of the not self versus the soul.

Right. And like, I was literally any time that I was operating outside. Knowingness of my identity identity as divine or my identity as, , as, uh, worthy of fully expressing that divine love. I was literally operating, not as myself, but as something else, a programmed condition version of me, that was never me.
