And now transitioning into our Black History Month highlight for this week. Uh, this week I was incredibly inspired by Jamea Wilson. Jamea is a writer. Author, commentator and feminist activist based in New York City. She's currently the vice president and executive editor at Random House, and formerly was the director and publisher of the Feminist Press at the City University of New York.

And over the years, I know that I've, I've seen Jame's writing in places like Medium and The Guardian, [00:04:00] but I hadn't quite had a chance yet to dive more deeply, um, into her work and into her as, as a person and as a thought leader. Um, but this week as I was reviewing the responses from my past client interview, That I've been doing over the past month or so, and also just doing some research about different networks and membership communities for women leaders and entrepreneurs.

I stumbled upon this group called the We Suite, and we is spelled. W i e, uh, and it's a private membership community for women leaders and creators who share insights and expertise and learnings to help drive one another's success. And on their site, it describes that the We Suite strives to connect and activate vision.

Multihyphenate women across all industries and across shared passions and goals. And when I [00:05:00] saw this, I just got so excited because it's, it's just so incredibly aligned with the direction that I'm seeking to grow with, be more connected and. Then I saw that Jamia Wilson is a we Suite member, and then I started to go down the rabbit hole and I started exploring her Instagram profile.

A couple of articles that she's written and a few podcasts that she's been on, and. . Yes. I just, I listened to this podcast episode that deeply inspired me. It was on the Citizen podcast a number of years ago, um, and the title of the episode was Taking Back Our Power. And in this episode, Jamea talks about her relationship with being a truth teller and using her voice and navigating the complexity of really deeply being in her authenticity and being in her power as a black woman.

And it was, Such an amazing episode and just fueled me [00:06:00] with a lot of inspiration this week. So I wanted to shout her out as, as the highlight this week on the podcast. And I will definitely be sure to link up those resources, um, the podcast episodes and the articles that inspired me in the show notes so that you can check them out if you are interested.

Okay. So that is all I have for the intro this week. I hope you enjoy this episode. Please remember to follow the podcast on your favorite podcast player and leave us a rating and review.
